Willie and the Dixons are a versatile blues outfit that cater for every occasion, be it an acoustic duo right through to a 6 piece houserockin' band that can strip the paint off the walls. These guys play a mixture of unique original, classic and 'genuine houserockin' blues' songs and have been entertaining crowds since 2010.
Formed when singer/songwriter/slide guitarist Neale ‘Willie’ Williams played a gig with his previous band and Rob O'Toole filled in on drums. Willie and Rob both liked what they heard and recruited Peter Beulke on bass to play their first gig in January 2010. Willie and the Dixons have gone on to become a crowd favourite wherever they perform, playing in all areas of regional Victoria.
Their debut album ‘Long Road to Longwood’ was released in 2013 to some great reviews and led to the band being signed to a representation deal with Windmill Music in the USA which has led to radio airplay worldwide.
The much anticipated 2nd album, ‘VAPORIZER!’ was released March, 2015 and contains eight new songs written by Willie and a couple of covers of classic blues songs. Once again, the album was recorded at Chris ‘Darkie’ Wilson’s studio in Clayton, Victoria. The album features some of the finest blues musicians in the country with Rob O’Toole and Michael Donehue sharing drumming duties, Peter Beulke and Darryl Herring on bass, Andy McClean on harmonica and Chris adding keyboards and a cameo guitar appearance on ‘Twenty minutes from anywhere’. As usual, Willie provides the slide guitar and vocals that give the band their distinctive sound. The album peaked at #8 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts and has received extensive airplay both domestically and internationally.
